Red Bull's Max Verstappen won his second consecutive Miami Grand Prix, ahead of his team mate Sergio Perez who started from pole.
Verstappen started from P9.
Verstappen started on the hard tire compound and managed to get into the lead before stopping for mediums on lap 45, losing the lead briefly to Perez with a 1.6 second gap. Verstappen re-gained the lead for good three laps later.
"Today was a good day, I stayed out of trouble at the beginning and I had a smooth race, I picked the cars off one by one," said Verstappen. "I had a good stint on the hard tyres which I think was integral to the win today."
"I had a good battle with Checo towards the end there too. I of course had the advantage with the new tyres but I think that's what we like to see, we are free to race. Yesterday was a bit of a setback, today we kept it calm and clean, and winning the race from P9 was very satisfying," added Verstappen.
Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso, who had got underway from P2 on the grid, completed the podium.
"There was nothing I could really do against Max [Verstappen] and Sergio [Perez] but, happily, there was no pressure today from behind, so we'll take this result," said Alonzo. "We've taken four podium finishes from the first five races - and only missed out on a podium in Baku by eight tenths of a second - so it's been a fantastic start to our season."
Mercedes drivers, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, finished fourth and sixth, respectively.
Ferrari drivers, Carlos Sainz finished fifth and seventh, respectively.
"That was a really satisfying race for us today. After the challenges in Qualifying, it felt like a more normal day for us. To finish P4 on merit and finish ahead of the Ferraris was the maximum we could have achieved," said Russell.
"I struggled with the car bottoming at high speed, which I hadn't experienced so far this weekend. I had to just focus on bringing the car home, so overall it was not a great race. We have to work on understanding why we are so competitive in qualifying and off the pace in the race," said Leclerc.
Alpine had a productive double points weekend with Pierre Gasly finishing eighth and Estaban Ocon finishing in P9.
Hass driver, veteran Kevin Magnussen, rounded out the top 10. Hass continues to show improvement this season, scoring points in three of the last four Grand Prix's.
"We scored points again, three times out of five [overall] this year and that's good, but it's a tough crowd out there," said Guenther Steiner, Haas Team Principal. "We're there or abouts and if nothing happens at the front then we're fighting for the last points which are leftover, and we got them this weekend after a very good qualifying."
The next round of the Formula 1 World Championship will be the Gran Premio del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia Romagna at Imola from 19 to 21 May: the first European race of the season.
